We’d like to introduce you to Cole, one of our Creative Directors!
Cole has been with us for two years and helps keep our Creative Department running smoothly.
Q: What does your job entail?
A: As a Creative Director I take direction from our Clients and design or illustrate merch items for them to sell on their web stores or out on tour, now that they are able to do that again. I often also need to design web stores, animate social media graphics, maintain the SCP brand guidelines, showcase presentations, and communicate with our Account Managers to schedule and plan out the clients' upcoming releases. Mostly I just scratch pentagrams on my notebook covers with an eraser and make pretty spreadsheets.
Q: What do you love about working for SCP?
A: I love working at SCP because everyone is so passionate about delivering the highest quality services to our clients as possible. Whether it be designing custom high-end cut and sew garments, or interactive web stores, everyone's passion for pushing merch beyond just a logo slapped on a black Gildan tee is always exciting.
Q: How has SCP helped to further your career?
A: I've been on all sides of the merch game, from printing in my dad's basement, to selling shirts living in a dirty van with a band, to designing punk rock baby clothes, and working at a bunch of print shops and promo agencies... SCP is a very friendly and creative group of weirdos and I get to do what I love. Draw all day and problem solve.
Q: What are three words you would use to describe SCP?
A: Merch Game Strong
Q: What album do you have on repeat right now?
A: It'll always be The Jesus Lizard - Goat
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Babe: Pig in the City
Q: What is your dream vacation?
A: Not checking my inbox for a week
Q: Do you have any pets?
A: Just a bunch of taxidermy on the walls. That counts, right?
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: Chicago Handshakes at dive bars and rummaging through dusty estate sales for Velvet Elvis Paintings.
Q: What is the best advice you've ever been given?
A: Make more money this year than you did last year and you can't learn without failing first.
